We are thrilled to share the highlights from the second edition of the , held on June 13th, 2024, in the elegant salons of the Fragonard Museum, Paris.
🏆🇮🇳🇫🇷 This year, we were honoured to award the prestigious prize to Aanchal Malhotra for her extraordinary book, Vestiges d'une Séparation (Remnants of a Separation), edited by Éditions Héloïse d'Ormesson
The event celebrated the remarkable literary contributions of contemporary Indian authors whose works have been translated into French, enhancing the cultural bridge between India and France.
The evening commenced with a welcome speech by the President of the Chamber, Bénédicte Brouard. Esteemed guests, including Mr. Naveen Kumar, Counsellor for the Indian Embassy in Paris, Mr. Grégor Trumel, Cultural Advisor designate at the French Embassy in India, and Mr. Etienne ROLLAND-PIEGUE, Consul General of France in Pondicherry and Chennai designate, added to the evening's significance with their presence and words of appreciation.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Agnes Webster and the Fragonard Parfumeur Museum for hosting us in their magnificent venue. The ambiance of the museum, located in front of the Opera Garnier, added a touch of elegance to the event. 🏛️🎨
🥂🤝📖 Following the award presentation, guests had the opportunity to engage with Aanchal Malhotra, purchase her book, and participate in enriching discussions about contemporary Indian literature and its translation into French. The cocktail reception that followed provided a delightful platform for networking and cultural exchange.
We were also happy to have CCIFI board members Coumar ANANDA, Pierre-Marie RELECOM, Hina Wadhwa, General Secretary Jean-Luc Barlet along with some of our advisory board members, Priti Agarwal-Marteil , Christophe Eck, @Vijay Phadke and Souad Tenfiche-Ancelle, present at the event.
